What's in a name? My father used to answer the phone at home with a
friendly "Mac's Shack, Mac speaking" and it stuck in my mind for years but I didn't use it, although I was known as Mac. (In the Air Force I was known as Sgt. Mac)
My father was a Finish Carpenter meaning he did the fine woodwork with perfection.
Finish Carpentry took great patience and fast work was never considered. His favorite tool was his razor sharp pocket knife for minute detail.
Of course with a name like McGarvey, we always claimed Irish decent. Truthfully our family tree goes back to Ireland AND Scotland. Somewhere along the line there was a bit of English. So what's in a Name? I feel Mac's Shack stands for Patience, Perfection, Strict Attention to Detail, Fine Work and Reasonable Prices (the latter is from our Scotch blood!). Notice the missing link? Fast work was never considered. Well, Mac's Shack IS FAST! We can produce a full color printing job into the tens of thousands in two days! The only time restraints would be preparation, art work and delivery. We will take time on every job setup and art work to assure absolute perfection. We guarantee our work to be error free. Catch an error and we will reprint it for free! Even my photography is FAST...totally digital and processed immediately.
The same policy goes with all of our products. Besides printing we do Photography, Fine Art Reproductions, Magnetic Photo Bookmarks, huge line of Labels and Rubber Stamps. There will always be times when the time a job takes is really out of our hands, but we promise to do the absolute best on our end of things.
Speaking of low rates like a Scotsman, my time setting up a job (graphics, typesetting, etc.) is my FUN time. I do not charge anybody when I am having FUN! If you want a typesetting job of more than the ordinary (like a book!) I will charge $28.50 per hour but only when it becomes WORK!
